Veteran Leader DB Chandregowda Passes Away

Bengaluru: Former minister, former MP, and Congress party’s senior leader DB Chandregowda passed away this morning (Tuesday). Chandregowda had vacated his MP post, allowing former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to contest the election from Chikkamagaluru constituency in 1978, and he worked very hard to ensure the victory of Indira Gandhi.

He served as a minister in Devaraj Urs and SM Krishna’s government, was the speaker of the Assembly, a member of the Rajya Sabha, and served as an MLC as well. Former CM Basavaraj Bommai and DCM DK Shivakumar mourned the demise of Chandregowda.
